NEST Inc. holds gathering in celebration of Naw-Ruz
The Network Educators For Social Transformation (NEST) Inc. facilitated a gathering in celebration of Naw-Ruz last March 21, 2009 at Tita Fannies Liempo and Chicken Haus located at Corrales Avenue, Cagayan de Oro.
Naw Ruz is the New Year celebration of Baha’i Faith worldwide. The date of Naw Ruz is determined by the solar calendar and begins on the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere which is around March 21.
The occasion started with prayers followed by a short talk from Perla Judith V. Somonod-Duamar, NEST Inc. Vice President for Development Programs. Then the meal was served while a ten-minute video presentation entitled ‘Impossible Dream’ was played signifying the burdened role of women in the society as a housekeeper, wife, wage earner at the same time, mother.
Noemi C. Alindog-Medina, NEST Inc. President gave a talk on discrimination against women and an overview of the change of the society today from years before. Then a forum on the said topic and some Baha’i values followed.

She Cried for Bride Wars

Nice story. Moving.
MOVIE RATE: 5/5
In truth, she didn't expected to cry all out for the movie. She downloaded the movie because she thought it was a full-packaged comedy. She cried more than she laughed. Good thing she was watching the movie alone. :)

Desiderata
I was browsing my files looking for a certain certificate I received from high school when I saw a lengthwise sheet of paper calling my attention. Sir Josh, the most influential person of my high school life, gave it to me during our retreat. That was..uhmm.. 2 years ago. As I read the poem, these lines struck me:
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be
greater and lesser persons than yourself.
That I totally forgot. BTW, the reason I was looking for this certain certificate was to tell myself I'm greater than the others.
Coincidence it may be, thanks for reminding me. :)
